Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Toss the sliced apples in a large bowl with granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and half the brown sugar. Let them sit for about 10 minutes.
- Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish, trimming excess dough.
- Mix in another bowl the flour, oats, remaining brown sugar, and cold butter until crumbly.
- Pour the apple filling into the prepared crust and sprinkle the crumb topping over the apples.
- Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F, then reduce to 350°F (175°C) for another 30-35 minutes.
- Cool the pie for at least 30 minutes before serving.
