Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Toss the sliced apples in a large bowl with granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and half the brown sugar. Let them sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish, trimming excess dough.
  4. Mix in another bowl the flour, oats, remaining brown sugar, and cold butter until crumbly.
  5. Pour the apple filling into the prepared crust and sprinkle the crumb topping over the apples.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F, then reduce to 350°F (175°C) for another 30-35 minutes.
  7. Cool the pie for at least 30 minutes before serving.
