Cooking Process
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil.
- Add your spaghetti or egg noodles to the boiling water and cook according to the package instructions until al dente—about 8-10 minutes.
- Once the pasta is cooked, drain it in a colander but be sure to save about 1/2 cup of the starchy cooking water.
- In the same pot, melt the unsalted butter over low heat and season with salt and pepper.
- Return the drained pasta to the pot and toss the noodles in the buttery sauce.
- If your dish seems a bit dry, gradually add reserved pasta water to reach your desired creaminess.
- Finish by garnishing your Buttered Noodles with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot.
